President Joe Biden warned Russian President Vladimir Putin that he will face consequences for interfering in the 2020 U.S. presidential election.
President Biden told George Stephanopoulos in an interview, that Putin will “pay a price” when asked about intelligent assessment which showed that Putin ordered “influence operations” to denigrate Biden and support Trump.
When asked what the exact price would be, Biden responded by saying, “Well, you’ll see shortly.”
A governmental election inference report showed that Putin authorized “influence operations” which focused on denigrating President Biden, as well as the Democratic Party. These operations, however, supported former-President Trump.
The assessment also showed that China “considered but did not deploy influence efforts intended to change the outcome of the U.S. Presidential election.”
Biden said that several days after his inauguration, he had a long phone conversation with Putin.
“The conversation started off, ‘I said, I know you and you know me. If I establish this occurred, then be prepared,’” the president said.
